The Village of Pellumbas
There is only one road going in and out of the village of Pellumbas. Although the condition of the road is treacherous, this small Albanian village is not one to miss. Both the trail to the river and the trail to the cave begin in the village, and the trail to the river winds through farmland. The villagers are predominately self-sufficient farmers, living off the land. There are approximately 100 families living in the village. There are a few small businesses, as well as a high school and an elementary school. These buildings make up the main center of the village. Of the small businesses, there are two cafes. Each cafe serves fresh, traditional food and has a small shop where local goods can be purchased. These goods include raki, wine, cheeses, and produce. The cafes are pictured below. While in the village of Pellumbas be sure to make time to stop and eat at the cafes.
